Worldbuilding Update: Viridorn, Mid Viridorn

This is a new one I haven’t shared before. This is the central region of a continent also named Viridorn. It’s one of the quieter parts of the world, at least on the surface. Compared to other continents, life here is more peaceful, but when things go wrong in Viridorn, they tend to go very wrong. This fantasy map shows the tranquility and hidden turmoil of Viridorn.
Mid Viridorn is shaped by verdant magic — the kind found in druidic circles, deep forest rituals, animal tamers, and those who work with the land rather than against it. You’ll find witches and wildmages out in the overgrown hills, herbmasters tucked into hidden villages, and mounts that are more companion than beasts of burden. Magic here is woven into the soil, the breath and the bond between people and place.
At the heart of the region is the city of Viridorn, which has been connected to the continent’s oldest roots — figuratively and literally. The city stands at the crossroads of trade and magic, but its influence doesn’t reach every corner.
Towns:
- Virihollith, a thriving town known for agricultural mastery and animal breeding.
- Bierishru, a place of strong riders and war-trained mounts, often sold beyond the borders.
- Torvnerill, a fortified riverside town where healing herbs and magic are cultivated.
- Merdolglien, set among open meadows, filled with free-roaming creatures and soft light.
Villages:
- Talilscathe, hidden by tall willows, breeds long-lived mounts unlike any others.
- Murthvioil, where flora is celebrated daily, and joyfully bred creatures bring luck to their keepers.
- Grauvelat, known for raising magical creatures that aid in farming and harvesting.
- Lohtirill, a treetop village grown and held together entirely by magic.
- Salvirrill, where companions for mages and scholars are trained in calm, thoughtful conditions.
- Gliensathin, where cliffs, rivers, and all three known magic types of the continent meet and entwine.
- Solaerlohti Hollith, wrapped in golden-leafed plants and warm, natural light.
- Lavin Vaehl, damp and mossy, set among lichen-covered caves and stones.
- Torvnefloris, where thorny plants are both beautiful and dangerous.
- Solaermerdo, resting in a sunny meadow, light-drenched and slow-moving.
- Forneglien, where deer-like creatures roam freely, almost as if the land protects them.
- Hasela Grauve, where powerful trees produce bark and seeds prized in both magic and trade.
As with the other regions, some of these places may feature directly in the story. Others might remain in the background as part of the atmosphere to shape the world.
Thanks for reading, and for exploring another piece of the world with me. More to come soon, as I keep piecing this world together — one map, one creature, one moment at a time.
