Worldbuilding Fantasy Map Update: Thoranorsall, Northern Ruvenar

Fantasy Map: Thoranorsall
This is one of the newest maps I’ve worked on, part of a recent round of updates across the world. I’ve been quietly piecing things together behind the scenes, and Thoranorsall is one of the more volatile regions both in the story and in its magic.
Thoranorsall is known for its powerful thunder and wind magic, tribal roots, and storm-lashed terrain. While many parts of the world are shaped by elemental forces, this one hums with storm energy. It’s about precision, survival, and how communities grow in the face of unpredictability.
At its centre is the city of Thoranorsall, a floating island bound by arcane means. It’s one of the most isolated capitals in Ruvenar, both physically and politically. The souls of this region turned their backs on Solaeris and Reunaecathe in recent events.
Towns:
• Thoranorharlm – A storm-bound town where thunder never stops rolling.
• Ayrtirvard Sineler – Walls built against the wind and reinforced with magic every season.
• Leltyr Thar – Built along a natural lightning road, crackling with raw energy.
Villages:
• Flussgrauve – A grove village where the trees lean backwards from the wind.
• Thoranor Rill – Wind and water combine here to form unique warding rituals.
• Aervarde – Cliffside and windswept, watching the skies for signs of magic.
• Stirharvema – Mountain-sheltered and difficult to reach.
• Tarl’s Romd – Storm-battered coastline where lightning touches the sea.
• Geolscathe – A place of howling winds and defensive spells that never stop casting.
• Ayrtircathe – One of the gentler spots, focused on wind meditation and internal balance.
• Nulhothar – A floating village tethered to the land with chains, cloaked in clouds.
• Siryspayrtir – Forested, home to the sword and wind whisperers.
• Aytirsceru – Barren and wind-scoured, marked with natural scars of magic.
Thoranorsall is full of tension between silence and noise, peace and rebellion, stillness and storm. It’s not one I’ll share too much about just yet, but it plays a vital role in what’s to come.
Thanks for being here while I sketch this world one piece at a time.
