Worldbuilding Fantasy Map Update: Solaeris, Mid Ruvenar

Some of you might recognise this fantasy map as well as Vetarith. I shared it once before, but technical issues got in the way, and I never gave it the post it deserved. I’m circling back now, giving each region a fuller introduction as I continue building this world piece by piece.
This is Solaeris, Mid Ruvenar, one of the most central and fiercely contested areas in the story. It’s a place of fire magic, deep-rooted traditions, and long-buried history. Some of it has already been lost but not on the same scale as Reunaecathe
At its heart is the city of Solaeris, the capital and centre of power. Much of what happens in the world turns at least partially on its flame. But Solaeris doesn’t stand alone (as much as they try to make it seem that way). Around it lie towns and villages that have each shaped the region — and the souls within it — in different ways.
Towns:
- Flelyrmenall – Known for its blacksmiths and schools where fire and arcane magic are taught side by side.
- Sterinfyre Vaehl – Famous for its burning night skies, streaked with falling stars.
- Cierrna Sineler – A desert town where fire mages are tested in brutal, tempest-scarred conditions.
- Cuskhaldir – A combat training ground, home to vast arenas.
Villages:
- Lynx Cris – Known for the taming of lynxes.
- Aemyruil – Set into cliffs where glowing fireballs fall like rainfall.
- Tempaar Sceru – A village built on the remains of a lightning strike that set the land ablaze.
- Aescecathe – Covered in harmless drifting ash, known for strange but lasting health.
- Solaer Poro – A sunlit peak where solaer magic is stronger than fire itself.
- Tyndan Vioil – Nestled in a fireproof forest, its homes are built among trees that don’t burn.
- Te Drimm Rux – Once a desert crossroads, now destroyed.
- Flaelalafen – A quiet village where fire brings warmth, not war. A place for healing.
- Byr Sarus – Famous for its fire festivals, still held beneath open flame and sky.
- Cuskfren – Surrounded by thick mist, where fire burns low and slow.
- Isfyrna – A village ringed by hot springs.
- Cindil Varde – High in the mountains, its watchtowers keep vigil over the smoke-choked valleys.
- Feonix Grauve – Said to be the birthplace of the last known phoenixes.
- Aesce Porthe – Once a guarded path to Solaeris, now half-buried in ash.
I won’t be sharing much more about this region for now because some parts of it matter too much to speak of just yet. It’s a volatile part of the world, both literally and in what it represents. But like the others, it plays its part in shaping everything around it.
Thank you for reading and for walking this path with me — even if it burns at the edges.
