Worldbuilding Fantasy Map Update: Aekinthar, Northern Viridorn

Fantasy Map: Aekinthar
This is one of the newer maps I’ve finished: Aekinthar, a land of deep stone, fertile soil, and shaping magic. It’s part of the broader Viridorn region. Where Viridorn feels more druidic and fluid, Aekinthar is grounded. It is shaped by earth-based rituals, farming traditions, and protective magic pulled from the stones of the land.
Aekinthar, is built among craggy valleys and slow-growing forests. Souls work with the land through stone, growth, structure, and care, often tied to generational knowledge passed through practice rather than study.
This is also where the currency of the world begins to take shape. Some of the gemstones found in Aekinthar aren’t just traded for their beauty; they’re used as coins. Their worth is based on rarity, clarity, and (in some cases) magical retention. The highest quality crystals can hold enchantments as well. For most people, these gems are a tangible extension of trade and trust: value drawn directly from the land.
Towns
• Mossivaehl – A peaceful valley town with moss-covered cottages and deep-rooted generational farming.
• Riutthar – This town was built around the base of a colossal tree.
• Caxim Grauve – This town is a haven for geomancers and druids. It is surrounded by stone formations and a thick forest.
Villages
• Braithenrygsta – Nestled between two ridges, tangled in bracken and wild greenery.
• Sondveld – A quiet farming village with fields dotted with protective stones.
• Emperviri – A forest where the trees never shed their leaves, even in winter.
• Tibriforl – A waterfall village tucked between tall trees and misted paths.
• Riuttuaoith – Known for its massive mushrooms and oversized pumpkins rooted in enchanted soil.
• Lohtiscathe – Hidden beneath a dense forest canopy, almost invisible from above.
• Kortmir – Lakeside and near Cascara, blending earth and water apprenticeships.
• Fisslerux – Covered in thistle fields, used in protection spells and herbal rites.
• Cralariut A mountain village with gemstone-based protective magic.
• Mardrill – Rich with clay and mud, often used in sculpture and ritual dwelling.
• Muresond – A marshland village, low and slow, humming with still-growing energy.
This is a quieter region in some ways, but not passive by any means. It’s shaped by effort, held by roots, and kept safe by the people who live close to the land. It’s also had the highest number of dragon sightings and interactions to date. I’ll be sharing more about it in time.
Thank you, as always, for exploring with me.
