Tuesday Tales: Meet the Elisar Character – Bounty Hunter Zaras & Updates
This week, I’m sharing a little more about Bounty Hunter Zaras. He is one of the three main perspectives in Blood of the Banshee.

BOUNTY HUNTER ZARAS
Blood of the Banshee begins with Zaras unconscious in Nocturnis (a town in Lunaaris). He has travelled there with intentions to capture a highly paying bounty; a young red-haired elf believed to be associated with a diminishing thieving gang called The Obsidian Whisper.
Bounty hunters take enchanted parchments of bounties, making it redundant if another tries to claim it. Unless the parchment is willingly changed hands or the hunter dies, it is theirs to keep until the bounty is captured or killed. That said, they cannot accept another formal job while holding onto one. Formal jobs tend to be valued a lot more than, say, some vermin that needs sorting, which wouldn’t ordinarily be written on an enchanted bounty piece.
Unfortunately (and this is a word used commonly for Zaras), Valariels captured her first. Just when he didn’t think things could be shitter, he’s been robbed, too. Zaras used the last of his money to pay for an extremely rare and expensive portal, a gamble that would take him directly to where she was. Now, he must reach Lunaaris by foot, where he believes they have taken her for imprisonment.
There is little known about Zaras. Before taking this job, he was roaming Viridorn. With grey hair, battle scars and dulled blue eyes, he is a bit of a grumpy bastard who screams in his sleep (his sleeping habits are… peculiar).
Zaras’s journey is rather nasty, to say the least. He has many strange encounters on the way (including those of the feline and ghastly variety).
BLOOD OF THE BANSHEE PROGRESS
I have been struggling with writing, mainly due to other commitments, and especially with the upcoming summer holidays.
That being said, when I have had the time, I’ve felt like I’ve gotten through a big chunk. I’ve added a page for Blood of the Banshee now, and I’ll be updating my progress percentage there each week.
Auralon POV was always going to be my longest to restructure and edit because I initially wrote his chapters intending to create a romantasy story. I’m hoping to have a big update on that by next Sunday, too!
Thanks for being here with me on this journey 🐈⬛🌙
