Tuesday Tales: Meet the Elisar Character – Auralon Dawshielth & Updates

This week, I’m sharing a little more about Auralon. He is one of the three main perspectives in Blood of the Banshee.

AURALON DAWSHIELTH

Auralon Dawshielth is a Valariel of the Astralis rank, and he currently resides in Sanctaris castle. Valariels are present across all nine regions, but the capital for training, law, and doctrine is in Sanctaris. The Astralis rank is earned by training in all nine regions in some capacity, usually for around half a year in each, though there’s no strict limit, as long as the full path is completed.

Auralon specialises in healing, and at the beginning of Blood of the Banshee, we see him returning from Haivilcris after dealing with an outbreak of Wraithlight plague. Despite being bruised, battered, and exhausted, he remains dedicated to his oath.

He is a Viridorn elf, born in one of the small villages there. He’s a warm soul, steady, grounded, and deeply rooted in his beliefs. Even though he’s witnessed some terrible things, he remains optimistic. Maybe even a little irritatingly so.

Lastly, he is loosely related to the Lythshielths, a first-generation light-wielding royal family from centuries ago (though royals have no relevance in his present day and haven’t held any power for some time). Sanctaris is the only region out of the nine to still have an original generation descendant alive in Mathren Lythshielth. Auralon’s paternal family were from the second branch of the Lythshielth line.

BLOOD OF THE BANSHEE PROGRESS

As it stands, last week, I was slowed down by my arm and other commitments. This week, I’m back to the second draft from Auralon’s POV. I know his part will take longer than usual because there are some BIG changes to the structure, which means I have to rewrite entire chapters.

I did get overwhelmed by it because I felt so bloody lost. I’ve got about six chapters left to restructure – the last one of them. I already know what’s happening, but the other five don’t feel like enough space to write within the limits I’m aiming for.

Next week, I’ll be talking about Zaras!

Thanks for being here with me on this journey🔆
