✨📚 5/5 Stars! 📚✨

This was the most common book on my feed that popped up, so I had to read it ASAP to stop avoiding Instagram in case I saw spoilers. Fourth Wing is the first massively trending book I’ve genuinely loved. While it’s not a literary masterpiece, it’s undeniably entertaining. The tension was perfectly crafted, and I couldn’t put it down!

What made this stand out from other trending titles is its unique pacing. It’s fast but never chaotic, with every event making sense within the story. It doesn’t rely on shock value without substance, and that’s what kept me hooked.

Even the romance struck a good balance. It wasn’t overwhelmed by overdone clichés. (Yes, there were a few hands-in-pockets from the love interest, but it didn’t overstay its welcome, thank god!)

The Characters

  • Violet: I loved her from the start. She was instantly relatable as she huffed her way up those stairs, struggling with chronic pain. I admired how she used her smarts to get through the trials rather than relying on physical strength, which remained a weakness despite training. Even with dragon powers, there was no miraculous transformation, which made her even more compelling.
  • Xaden: His powers might be a bit much, but they make sense for his position in the story. It took me a while to warm up to him, and I wasn’t a fan of the last chapter from his perspective. It didn’t sound like him and still felt like Violet.
  • Liam: Absolute sweetheart. I refuse to hear anything negative about him!
  • Tairn: Big, grumpy dragon fiercely protective of Violet and his smaller dragon companion, Andarna. His limited appearances kept him from being overused, which was a smart choice.
  • Andarna: A heart of gold to match her beautiful golden scales. I adored her from the moment she appeared, and I couldn’t believe what those bastards wanted to do to her!

I won’t spoil the rest of the story or characters because I wouldn’t want to take away from anyone else’s experience. I’m so glad I picked this up, and I’m excited to start Iron Flame soon.
