Worldbuilding

A parchment-style fantasy map of Mid Viridorn, a lush and fertile region within a fictional world. The large central city of Viridorn is marked as the birthplace of the Everleaf family, who wield verdant magic. Around it are several towns and villages tied to agriculture, magical flora, and creature breeding. Notable towns include Virihollith, known for its farmlands and animal rearing; Bierishru, specialising in war mounts; Merdolglien, surrounded by free-roaming creatures; and Torvnerill, a fortified town near a river, famous for healing herbs and magic. Villages include Lavin Vaehl, set among moss-covered caves; Hasela Grauve, known for magical trees; Lohtirill, a treetop village held together by magic; Talilscathe, home to long-living mounts; and Murthvioil, a place of daily nature celebration. The map is inked in elegant black script and framed by a classic aged parchment texture. © TJ Hassall 2025. All rights reserved.

Worldbuilding Update: Viridorn, Mid Viridorn

ByTiffany April 23, 2025April 23, 2025

This is a new one I haven’t shared before. This is the central region of a continent also named Viridorn. It’s one of the quieter parts of the world, at least on the surface. Compared to other continents, life here is more peaceful, but when things go wrong in Viridorn, they tend to go very…

A parchment-style fantasy map of Vetarith, a cold and sparsely populated region in the north. The map shows the city of Vetarith at its centre, surrounded by a few towns and villages. Kristel Vost lies to the northeast, with Shimreglis nearby. Snovael’s Rela sits further south, close to the border. Other marked locations include the high-altitude village of Snovaelporo, the cliffside village of Glistorvne, the forested Vosthaivil, the water-preserving Glis Tel, the ritual site Glaithir Rill, and the storm-battered Vostarsond. The surrounding area is labelled Northern Orvainor. The map is rendered in elegant black ink on an aged parchment background. © TJ Hassall 2025. All rights reserved.

Worldbuilding Update: Vetarith, Northern Orvainor

ByTiffany April 16, 2025April 15, 2025

Some of you might recognise this one! I’ve shared the map of Vetarith before, but I didn’t post much about it at the time. Worldbuilding is key to creating rich, immersive stories. I’m starting to go back and give each of these regions the space they deserve, so I’ll be doing fuller posts like this…

A parchment-style fantasy map titled Southern Ruvenar. The landmass is edged with jagged coastlines and scattered islands, shown in fine black ink with elegant calligraphy. Key locations are marked with black circles and names such as Reunaecathe, Arcane Kava, Meoscathe, and Lunaarthar. Regions like Cathe Sarus and Celestria are labelled in a flowing script. The overall aesthetic is classic and slightly aged, evoking a sense of forgotten history and old magic. Map by TJ Hassall, 2025.

Worldbuilding Update: Reunaecathe, Southern Ruvenar

ByTiffany April 9, 2025April 9, 2025

I’m so happy because this week I get to share the piece of my world I’ve been working on. Reunacathe (also known as Runeveil) is now known as Runefall. It was once the heart of arcane schools of magic. They were far more advanced in technology than any other country and willing to share their…

Worldbuilding Update: Orvainor… well, nearly!

ByTiffany January 16, 2025January 16, 2025

I didn’t think I would get to work on this again for a few weeks, but I managed to find some time to add the most important names. I will be adding geography in the future! This is two-thirds of Orvainor, which hosts the countries of Sanctaris and Lunaaris. These will probably be the most…

Worldbuilding Update: My Map, Language, and Progress

ByTiffany January 9, 2025January 9, 2025

My digital art skills are rather rusty, and whilst they are not of the best quality, I wanted to share a sneak peek of the map I’ve been working on for my fantasy world! While I still need to finalise the names for cities, towns, and villages, this map represents a huge step forward in…
