How I Fell in Love with Reading

When I was younger, reading didn’t come easily. I struggled to grasp the basics and was even suspected of having dyslexia. Thanks to a supportive teacher, I slowly learned how to read, and once the world of books opened up to me, I became obsessed.
I devoured stories like Sheltie the Shetland Pony, Harry Potter, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and almost every book by Jacqueline Wilson. These stories were my escape, a refuge where I could explore countless adventures.

Challenges Along the Way

As I got older, reading became harder. My undiagnosed Autism and ADHD created challenges that weren’t recognised at the time, and the lack of support made school unbearable. Sensory overload, noisy corridors, and chaotic classrooms left me overwhelmed. Teachers dismissed me as “being difficult,” but in reality, I was just trying to cope.
Eventually, I stopped attending school. Instead of classrooms, I found solace on buses and trains, spending six hours a day travelling and writing. Writing became my escape when reading felt out of reach.

Rediscovering Fiction

For years, I turned to nonfiction, but fictional stories never quite held the same magic they once did—until recently. Seeing certain trending titles repeatedly popping up on my feed reignited my curiosity.
Unfortunately, my first pick was disappointing—a hyped book that left me baffled by its popularity. That frustration pushed me to dive deeper, finding less disappointing reads and eventually starting a series I loved. It was then I realised I wanted to share my honest opinions with the world.

Why I Created This Website

This website is my space to share genuine book reviews—no sugar-coating, no unnecessary hype. I focus on stories that truly resonate with me, books that earn at least 4 stars. I’ve found that many platforms limit how freely you can share your opinions, so I built this site to speak my mind without restriction.
Here, you’ll find thoughtful reviews on fantasy, trending titles, and beyond. Whether it’s a book I loved or one that disappointed me, I promise honesty every step of the way.
