Author Update

We’ve had the wonderful back-to-school plague in our house. It got everyone else, and, silly me, with the weakest immune system of us all, thought I’d gotten away with it. Of course, I hadn’t escaped; I was simply the last to fall ill.

I’m not going to lie, I’m absolutely terrified about this, but I’m glad I accomplished so much. I’ve just started my next university module and had to weave that into my schedule. That shouldn’t affect too much as long as I stick to it.

With that out of the way, I should discuss what I’ve been working on, because it’s a lot!

Blood of the Banshee Preview

Part One of five: this dark fantasy novella begins the complete first book of Blood of the Banshee.

When a banshee-blooded outlaw is snatched in a crowded inn, she becomes leverage in a legal battle amongst the Valariels of Sanctaris. Bindings hold her between life and death, and rival orders contest her fate. The Justarin demands custody while others fight to spare her.

Zaras, a battle-worn elf turned bounty hunter who nearly captured her, wakes in rioting Nocturnis, stabbed and choking on sewage. Auralon, exhausted from purging plagues, returns to Sanctaris to find the girl cocooned in spell-thread as his mentor faces a trial mired in politics.

Across the world of Elisar, dragons vanish, necromancy resurges, and plagues are spreading like ink in rainwater.

Blood of the Banshee: Part One blends grim magic, political intrigue and gritty, character-driven drama. For readers who enjoy their fantasy unpredictable, their heroes flawed, and their antagonists certain they’re right.

Content warning: The path through Lunaaris and Sanctaris is paved with violence, corruption, and death. This novella is intended for adult readers.

Blood of the Banshee Updates

This week, my editor returned Blood of the Banshee, and I’m happy with the feedback! I was super nervous about sharing it. They were the first person outside my husband to read it.

Alongside receiving my editor’s feedback, I completed the Kindle cover. That means the novella is now available for pre-order on Amazon, scheduled for release on 31st October, which you can get by clicking here!

This is Part One of five, and this dark fantasy novella begins the complete first book of Blood of the Banshee. Now, I know a lot of people may ask, “Is this romantasy?”, “Does it have romance?” or “Does it have spice?” and no, it is not romantasy. The answer to the other two questions is no. Not yet.

Blood of the Banshee: Part I is being prepared for Audible as a duet. Because of Amazon’s system, the date may change, but I’m aiming for 30th November. I’m also working on the paperback and hardback editions for the same date.

ARC Readers

And for those of you eager to read ahead, ARC details for Part I will be announced tomorrow. Keep an eye out if you’d like to be an early reader.

As ever, thanks for being here with me on this journey🌙
